As Editor of Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft, I’m lucky enough to have an endless stream of beautiful projects come across my desk. Often, while selecting the work for an issue or editing instructions, I’ll keep a few cards in a free corner to admire a little longer.
In the last month or so I’ve noticed a trend appearing – many of the cards I’ve kept aside have incorporated shades of aqua, blue and brown. So it appears I have a new favourite colour scheme without even realising it!
It’s a great combination – the pretty aqua shades contrast nicely with warm browns – and it works well in a variety of proportions too. Plus, it suits a bunch of different occasions…
The Cards:
HOOT is by Chloe Schmitt and appears in the current issue Vol 16 No 4 as part of our Stamper’s Challenge using Kaszazz wings.
MAPLE LEAVES are quick designs from the same issue and were created with a Cricut machine.
BABY JUDE is a card I created for Vol 16 No 2 and illustrates how to use those super cool (and budget friendly) American Crafts chipboard frames.
And finally, BLUE FLOWERS is a card the lovely Kristy Evans (Editor of SBM) made me for my birthday this year.
